AOH National Liaison Responsibilities

Communicate, Recruit, Inform, and grow your states.

Goal is for each Liaison to grow each of your states each and every year.

Primary contact with your constituents is electronic. Telephone, E-mail, etc.

Communicate with your states – support and encourage timely AOH national projects.

  1. Speak to your state presidents Monthly.
  2. Communicate to your state presidents and vice presidents monthly via e-mal.
  3. Work with National Organizer to promote recruiting and retention at the division level.
    1. Promote recruiting monthly – get to the division level –
      1. Grow your states daily.
    2. Promote retention of members – get to the member level –
      1. Promote membership renewal early in the year.
      2. Promote getting members who left back into the fold.
        1. Sometimes a letter of encouragement will get them back.
        2. Sometimes a phone call will get them back.
        3. Encourage state to implement programs listed 1 and 2.
  4. Communications
    1. Work to get all members of your state on the national e-mail list.
    2. Work to get all officers (and members) from your area to attend Conventions and board meetings at every level.
      1. County
      2. State
      3. National
  5. Rituals
    1. Work to get all officers at every level degreed.
    2. Help you states follow proper meeting protocol.
  6. Grievances
    1. Read the constitution now. Read it again in two months. Read it again every six months.
    2. Understand procedures, you will be the first contact when there is an issue in your states.
    3. Remember
      1. No one can suspend a member without a tribunal except when their per capita are not paid.
      2. Whenever an officer is involved in any way the tribunal must be filed at the next level up.
      3. Charges must be filed by the accuser in writing and sent to the accused as prescribed in the constitution.
  1. May attend up to two meeting of each state board you represent annually with permission from the National President.
    1. If you are unable to attend a state convention please notify the National President as early as possible.

National Communications

  1. Hibernian Digest Responsibility

Submit a 300 to 600-word article to the Hibernians Digest prior to the established deadline for each and every Hibernian Digest published.

  1. Web Page Responsibility

Responsible for creating and approving all content on the AOH web-page as related to chairmanship.

Must provide a monthly update to the AOH webmaster. Weekly updates are encouraged.

Updates are a simple action picture and a paragraph.

  1. Email Blast Responsibility

Prepare articles for email blast as requested. Suggest articles for email blast as needed

Other

Additional duties as assigned by the national president.
